About Us

Under The African Sky Safaris was formed in 2000, and is family owned and managed. Under The African Sky Safaris is based on the outskirts of Bloemfontein, the capital of South Africa's Free State Province.

Stephan and Ansie are born South African`s and from an early age they developed a deep love and passion for the natural environment. Both are qualified wildlife managers with over 13 years of experience in wildlife management and tourism between them. Stephan was actively involved for quite a few years in the management of various wildlife parks and thereafter wildlife research. He is a member of PHASA (Professional Hunters Association of South Africa), Safari Club International (SCI) and Ducks Unlimited (DU). Ansie, a registered tour guide, worked in the Kruger National Park, and has been involved in tourism in countries like Botswana and Zimbabwe, to name but a few.

Our philosophy is to build  and maintain high-quality relationships with our clients and  to do our utmost to DELIGHT them. We respect nature, and believe that the wisest use of the environment is through responsible and sustainable activities, which is not only beneficial for the environment but also for the rural communities, which is living among our enormously rich wildlife habitat.
