This trip takes us between Maputu (Mozambique) and Swakopmund (Namibie). Truly an awesome overland route, more than 3000km from one side of Africa to the other, taking 5 countries and 4 South Africa provinces. Spectacular sights of deserts, mountains, bush country, massive dunes, beaches and scores of small platteland towns in-between.
Day 1
Start our journey in Maputu (Mozambique where we will unwind on a shady stoep with a cold beer and a plate of peri-peri prawns.
Day 2
We head inland. We enter Swaziland and book in at a famous National Park. There you will enjoy a evening drive and spend a hour photographing sights such as the “kings lions”.
Day 3
Driving the Swazi craft route where you can see popular items of curios, glass and candle art. By late afternoon we are back in South Africa driving to a new hot spot in tourism.
Day 4
This day we spend in the surrounding area where you can meet “shangoma” – traditional healers, arts that is world class, horseback rides through hills (not included in price), or a micro light flight (not included in price) and sight seeing.
Day 5
Early the morning we head for the Kruger Park, an internationally known parks that host more than 1 million visitors a year. There we will seek for the big 5 listen to stories of game rangers and they’re in counter with the wildlife. The night we will relax at a guest house where you will be pampered to the limit.
Day 6
After a scrampciose breakfast we head of for a bit of history. Pelgrims Rest, a village smuggled into a side of a mountain. This village is a national monument with fascinating stories and history. There you will find a pub that was once a church in Mosambique. The rest of the day we will enjoy sight seeing, trout fishing (not included in price) or bird watching (known to be the best birding spots in the world).
Day 7
Early next day we head through the city of Gauteng to the Waterberg where you will meet interesting farmers and become part of their personal special community. There we will take drive through numerous private game reserves and look at nature in other perspective.
Day 8 & 9
Today you can spend gambling money, play golf, ride an elephants, visit a crocodile farm, or go for a hot air balloon ride. Sun City a well known place where the renowned Lost City is built (activities the choice of the clients. The same day we will head for Botswana. Before entering Botswana we will visit mystical bush veld places – the home of Herman Charles Bosman, a world-renowned writer. Botswana. The Kalahari. There we stay for a few days in a tent where lions at night roars and hyena’s eyes dances around the camp-fire.
Day 10
Then we prepare ourselves for the long drive to Namibie. At Windhoek we visit Swakopmund, look at old German – style architecture, and end the safari with some seawater fishing.
